The Northern Shetland Enthusiasts Group goes from strength to strength with almost sixty (60) people at the February meeting to hear the Society President Peter Tindale give a challenging address to those assembled. A spectacular raffle produced some amazing prizes with tremendous interest being shown in a vibrating "Elvfleece" (Elvis Presley) Toy - the eventual benficiary being Mrs Newall's grandchildren. This year will hopefully see a stud visit to the Parlington Stud and a driving exhibition as well as a summer social.

Our Butterby showing season has started in dramatic style with a Supreme for Express at the Yorkshire Group Show and a Championship and Reserve Supreme in Hand at the Midlands Stallion Show.

Kracker (3 year old son of Express) was Reserve Champion at the Midlands Show in the Shetland and Exmoor Class to his "dad" and not to be outdone at Yorkshire he was Reserve Junior Champion.

We have been, along with many others including Joy and Michael Baurgh, Karen Nixon, Mr. Joyner and George and Lilla Wheatley to the Judges Training Day at Bishop Burton College near Beverly to provide ridden ponies and in-hand ponies for the Society to help train judges. Serious but enjoyable stuff.

Looking forward to what May will bring - hopefully warmer and drier weather.
