Butterby Express - SPSBS Breed Show - Fantastic Result !

Butterby Shetlands achieve highest honour with Supreme Championship at Society Breed Show

The Shetland Pony Stud Book Annual Breed show in Aberdeen was the venue for the greatest achievement of the Butterby Stud, the honour of being awarded Supreme Champion, along with Best Stallion and Best Broken Coloured.

Butterby Express, 9 year old stallion was awarded the prestigious prize by a panel of five judges in the overall final.

Over 350 ponies were entered with some quality opposition including the overall international champion from last year's show in  Belgium.

Express won many admirers as he kept up his performance for the whole day to attract the support of the judges from the various rings (the coloured judge being barred from supporting him)

Not to be outdone, Butterby Isis, a five year old was awarded Best Geld Mare, making it a really wonderful day for the Butterby Stud.

It is difficult to describe the feeling of securing such a result and to see all of the other names on the trophies with such well known breeders and ponies.

Needless to say we had a great night with fellow competitors from Devon and Somerset as well as some of the organisers.

We would like to thank everyone who helped to organise the show and especially the show committee and our host at the venue.
