Three ponies were taken to Malvern and all three returned with success; the long journey was certainly worth while for Butterby Kracker, Butterby Arazon (Bella) and Butterby Bliss.

It is a five and a half hour journey from durham to Malvern but it was certainly worth it to get the youngsters out and to get Kracker out and about before he goes to the Shetland Islands.

The distance may have affected the ponies a little with some condition being lost but they acquitted themselves really well.

In a close run thing in the stallion class and after a second "run off" Kracker was awarded first place with the judge saying that they wished they had two first prizes - it was that close.

The youngsters Bella in the two year old class and Bliss in the yearling class did really well in both achieving a first place.

Bella went on to be Reserve Junior Champion and Kracker was Ring Champion.

In the Supreme Kracker made it a really wonderful day when he performed to be awarded Reserve Supreme Champion to the Transy Stud Gelding which has achieved success consistently in recent years.

The sprightly (and sometimes mischievious) Ms Barbara Wilson presided over the Supreme in Hand Championship

Butterby Bliss is one of two ponies that have been sold to a German lady and this result will no doubt please her new owner.

Bliss has been out three times this year and has been placed first on each occasion.

The journey home involved a little detour as a turning was missed and the M6 got a visit instead of the M1 - but after such a great day it really didn't matter.
