2008 Foaling News
With the exception of the sad loss of one foal 2008 has been a cracking year for foals with some really great examples of the Butterby type pony on view.
It was very sad that after two weeks we lost a colt foal to a severe infection which the vets could not help with. This was a first foal for the mare but hopefully she will not suffer too greatly from the loss and next year could see her produce another foal; we hope.
All three stallions have done a great job in terms of their off-spring; Broken coloured foals for Butterby Kracker and Bay and Broken coloured for Express and Bright Light continues to produce quality chestnuts. This said there are a couple of blacks about to visiting mares.
Visitors have been impressed with crop of foals; which as always; attract the "ooh" factor because they are so cute.
