The Shetland Pony, originating from the Shetland Islands offers you the full range of equestrian pursuits in a fun size package.
The Standard pony, up to 42 inches tall, is strong, hardy and versatile. The smaller Miniature pony, up to 34 inches in height, is attractive but more limited in its uses.
As a native breed within the British Isles, the Shetland Pony has been around for centuries and is seen in all colours but it is never “spotted”.
It can be ridden, driven, shown in – hand and makes an ideal first pony for children.
Governed by the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society the purity of the breed is safeguarded by strict breeding rules and registration procedures.
